Tourist Guide: Things to do in Hollywood:

1. Head up to the Hollywood Sign

Perhaps the most well-known tourist attraction in Hollywood is the iconic symbol of the movie business: the Hollywood sign. Originally constructed in 1923, the 350-foot-wide emblem overlooks the celeb-filled city from Mt. Lee, a part of the Hollywood Hills area in the Santa Monica Mountain range, where you can take horse rides from Sunset ranch or even helicopter tours to get a truly unique view of the most important things to see in Hollywood.

2. Wander down the Walk of Fame

With more than 2000 household names paving the 15-block-long walk of fame, you can spend hours searching for your Hollywood heroes. One of the most famous Hollywood places to visit where tourists and locals alike can get a feel for the style and history that Hollywood has to offer.

3. A day at Universal Studios

Another of the great Hollywood tourist attractions is Universal Studios, the film studio and theme park where visitors get the chance to go behind the scenes of their favorite blockbusters and truly experience the world of movies in all its glamor and magic; an excellent way to spend a day in Hollywood !

4. Hollywood Bowl – If these walls could talk!

This outdoor amphitheater is truly a Hollywood must-see. Tucked away, north of Hollywood Boulevard, the Hollywood Bowl, whose name comes from its concave shape, has played host to a long list of the world’s best musicians including the likes of Pavarotti, Louis Armstrong, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones etc. Also, if you’re looking for things to do in Hollywood during the day, it’s a great place to have a picnic with all the family!

5. Catch a movie at the Chinese Theatre

One way to avoid the hustle and bustle of tourists is to visit the TCL Chinese Theatre and see a motion picture in the cinema which hosted the 1977 launch of George Lucas’ Star Wars, a fantastic Hollywood tourist attraction for film buffs. The majority of snap-happy tourists tend to stick to the exterior where you can find over 200 hand prints, footprints and signatures of popular film stars dating back to the theater’s opening in the 1920s.

Obviously these aren’t the only attractions in Hollywood worth seeing, the list is practically endless: the Sunset strip, hundreds of bus and walking tours, picturesque parks for hiking, beautiful beaches for watersports, the famous architectural marvel: the Capitol Records building, the red-carpet Dolby Theatre – home to the Oscars, the portal to the stars Madame Tussauds wax museum and much more.
