The US Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is a visa waiver that enables the Czechs to visit The United States of America.
Since 2009, all Czech nationals who wish to travel to the US for stays under 90 days, can obtain the electronic authorization before starting their trip. the Czech Republic is among the list of 39 countries approved by the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), which allows travelers to apply for an ESTA online.
Travelers who are not citizens of VWP countries can not apply and must obtain a regular visa instead.
The application process for the US ESTA is simple, and it can be finished within 10 minutes.
The majority of the applications are approved at a great rate. Nonetheless, it is advisable for the Czechs to apply at least 72 hours in advance in order to avoid any inconveniences and have sufficient time for processing.
There are several rules and regulations that must be followed before making any travel plans to the US. The first step for the citizens of the Czech Republic to get the visa waiver is filling out the ESTA application form for Czech citizens.
The application form consists of plain questions and the completion of the traveler’s personal information, which means providing the following:
The following step is to answer security and safety questions for protocol reasons. All questions need to be responded honestly. Any untruthful information or errors are susceptible to the denial of the visa waiver.
The application processing time is commonly within 24 hours. It is recommendable for Czech passengers to revise all their personal data before submitting it. Once the application is processed, the Czech applicant will receive a response with the approved ESTA for the US via email.
Some applications can be denied, however, there is a possibility of reapplication when there are mistakes present. Czech travelers can also reapply when their travel circumstances have changed in a significant manner.
It is important that applicants from the Czech Republic keep either a soft copy (smartphone, tablet, etc.) or a printed copy of the approved eVisa, which will be reviewed at the US border control along with their travel documentation (passport).
When the ESTA validity is expired, the Czech bearer must renew their application by starting out a new form and the payment of the visa waiver fee.

The electronic permit can only be used for the following purposes:
In 1989 the Czech Republic was added to the Visa Waiver Program, which authorized the Czechs to visit the US visa-free for the reasons mentioned above: leisure, medical, short business or transit purposes.
One of the motives to have an electronic visa waiver program has to do with security measures. In this regard, the US ESTA intends to face terrorism threats by prescreening foreign passengers prior to their arrival in the US.
Therefore, this visa waiver, available for the Czechs, helps strengthen border security and safety for both passengers and US citizens.
For this reason, Czech nationals can not enter the United States of America without a valid ESTA visa waiver.
It is important to note that the ESTA visa waiver is linked to the specific passport of usage. Czech passport holders can not transfer their ESTA from one passport to another.
Also, the ESTA is valid from its date of approval for a period of 2 years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. Therefore, if any of the documents expire first, a new application would be necessary. Any details regarding the expiration of the visa waiver are available online.
In this regard, it is paramount that Czech citizens are aware of the negative consequences of overstaying a US ESTA in the country.
